EASTER
EGG COLORING - naturally There
is something about colored Easter eggs that makes me smile. Maybe it
satisfies my inner child. Mostly, it just isn't something you see every
day. And you can't buy them! They are a labor of love. Colored eggs are
special and add a festive touch to your home this time of year. Colored
eggs are also a great symbol when creating an altar for Ostara. Here
are a few ways you can have colored eggs, dyed naturally! For
bright YELLOW
to orangish
colored eggs: Place
eggs in a pot with yellow onion skins, cover with water. Boil 10
minutes. The eggs will turn darker the longer you leave them in the
onion skin water. For
LAVENDER
colored eggs: Boil
eggs with a package of frozen blueberries for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.
Let the eggs stand in the blueberries overnight for a darker color. For
PINK
colored eggs: Boil
eggs with a package of frozen raspberries for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.
Let the eggs stand in the raspberries overnight for a darker color. For
BLUE
colored eggs: Boil
some red cabbage, remove leaves from the water. Let cool. Boil eggs in
separate pot. Set the boiled eggs in the cold cabbage water overnight in
the refrigerator. David
